Our client is a privately owned Company, employing nearly 1400 staff. They manufacture an extensive range of quality engineered valves and controls for heating and cooling systems.
Due to continued growth they are seeking a self-motivated Area Sales Manager to market and sell a unique range of valves, thermostatic control products, pipes and manifolds in the South East.
The company’s core activity is in providing products and solutions for isolation, regulation and control of heating, cooling and domestic water services, typically in Hospitals, Schools, Health Centres, Housing Associations, Commercial Offices and large Public Buildings.
The ideal candidate will have a basic all round knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering, preferably with some experience in HVAC / Building Services and a knowledge of the requirements of the Commercial, Healthcare and Local Authority sectors. Ideally you will be a proven, results-orientated, business developer and have a good knowledge of, and established contacts with consulting engineers, key specifiers and contractors in the South East. You should be a strong team player and must be able to demonstrate an ability to work on your own initiative, to communicate effectively, be computer literate, whilst having the ability and personality to integrate into a small close-knit sales team.
Based in the territory, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining existing clients whilst also researching and finding new ones.
The successful candidate will be responsible for specifying the company’s extensive range of products with consulting engineers, local authorities and other specifiers as well as negotiating and securing orders from plumbing / mechanical contractors and O.E.M.s wishing to take advantage of the commercial benefits that can be demonstrated by use of the products.
Some experience in the sales of mechanical and thermostatic products into these market sectors would be of benefit, but greater emphasis will be placed upon the potential of the individual to grow with the business and to develop sales in the territory in line with ambitious market development plans.
- A relevant degree / HNC, HND, NVQ or other vocational qualification would be an advantage.
- Experience in a similar role within the mechanical services / HVAC industry or with a manufacturer, distributor, contractor or consulting engineer would also be considered.
- Computer literate.
- Full UK Driving Licence
